NPI Project Leader

Your role
Mission
To lead New Product Introduction (NPI) projects from concept to market launch, ensuring timely delivery, cost efficiency, quality compliance, and customer satisfaction. As the key driver of NPI processes, you will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage project milestones, mitigate risks, and ensure seamless transition from development to manufacturing.
Major Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in alignment with business and customer requirements.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Lead cross-functional project teams (R&D, Operations, Marketing) through all NPI phases.
- Work closely with Marketing to define product positioning, value proposition, and go-to-market strategy.
- Gather and analyze market feedback during NPI process to align product features with local market needs.
- Monitor project progress, track KPIs, and report regularly to stakeholders and senior management.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, ensuring proactive issue resolution.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and internal processes.
- Facilitate communication between internal teams and external partners (suppliers, customers).
- Manage change requests and ensure proper documentation and approval processes.
- Drive continuous improvement in NPI processes and project management methodologies.
To succeed, you will need
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, Project Management, Business, or related field.
- 4+ years of experience in project management, preferably in NPI, R&D, or manufacturing environments.
- Proven experience in product localization or adaptation for regional markets (especially China).
- Experience collaborating with Marketing teams on product launches, market research, or customer insight projects.
- Proven track record in managing complex projects from concept to launch.
- PMP, Agile, or Scrum certification is a plus.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Planview) and ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
- Familiarity with quality standards of industrial mechatronic products, product development processes, and risk management.
- Understanding marketing principles and ability to translate market needs into product specifications.
- Knowledge of localization strategies, regulatory requirements, and cultural adaptation for target markets.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent in English
