Your Role
Role Overview
The Field Service Engineer provides high-quality service and technical support for the complete portfolio of turbo machinery (Turbo Compressors and Turbo Expanders) across the MEA region and Pakistan. The role acts as the primary technical liaison between the organization and customers, ensuring the effective planning, execution, and closure of service activities. Key responsibilities include on-site commissioning, troubleshooting, diagnostics, performance optimization, and execution of service orders in accordance with contractual, safety, and quality standards. The position also involves providing technical guidance and formal training to customer personnel to ensure optimal equipment operation and reliability. Extensive regional and international travel is an essential requirement of this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced troubleshooting, diagnostics, preventive maintenance, inspections, and major overhauls on turbomachinery, including turbo compressors and turbo expanders.
- Execute workshop and field service activities, including preparation and management of work scopes, manpower planning, and work/time schedules for assigned service orders.
- Develop and compile comprehensive risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), and inspection and testing plans (ITPs) in compliance with contractual, regulatory, and company standards.
- Prepare and deliver detailed technical service reports, findings, and recommendations following job completion.
- Recommend spare parts, retrofits, upgrades, and performance or reliability enhancements to customers based on operational assessments and lifecycle considerations.
- Conduct turbomachinery overhauls on LNG vessels, both during sailing operations and in dry dock environments.
- Interface with internal product engineering and product support teams to resolve complex technical issues and address customer technical queries efficiently.
- Provide technical training and on-site guidance to customer personnel on the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of turbomachinery equipment.
- Ensure strict compliance with HSE policies, site-specific safety plans, and applicable international safety standards throughout all service activities.
- Support aftermarket data analysis and improvement initiatives in collaboration with the sales and commercial teams during periods of reduced field activity.
- Demonstrate flexibility to support extended working hours, weekend assignments, on-call rotations, and assistance with site access requirements, including permits, inductions, and logistical coordination as required.
To succeed, you will need
Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Relevant technical certifications or trade qualifications.
- Minimum 3 years in servicing, maintaining, and repairing rotating equipment.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of turbo machinery and related systems (mechanics, hydraulics, lubrication, seal gas).
- Familiarity with instrumentation and control systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and reporting capabilities.
