Your future job

Your role

As a Field Service Technician, your mission is to facilitate growth of Power Technique’s Aftermarket through a customer-facing Field Service Engineer with strong diesel-engine expertise, capable of diagnosing, repairing, quoting, and selling service work on compressors, generators, and tools—using digital systems and incentivized on performance.

You will report to the Service Center Manager.

Responsibilities include:

Technical Service & Repairs

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel-driven compressors, generators, and tools with primary focus on diesel engine related issues.
  • Perform preventative, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on customer equipment.
  • Identify root causes of failures and recommend durable repair solutions (not temporary fixes)
  • Read and interpret service manuals, wiring diagrams, and engine fault codes
  • Ensure all repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and to OEM standards

Customer Interaction & On-site Support

  • Act as the primary company representative on customer sites
  • Communicate technical issues clearly to operators, site managers, and decision-makers
  • Explain repair needs, risks, and benefits in plain business terms (downtime, cost, reliability)
  • Build trust-based, long-term customer relationships through professional service delivery

Service Sales & Commercial Responsibilities

  • Identify and actively sell repair, overhaul, and preventative maintenance work
  • Prepare and present clear, professional service quotes directly to customers
  • Recommend additional services, parts, or upgrades based on machine condition and usage
  • Follow up on quotes to secure customer approval and close service opportunities
  • Operate effectively in an incentivized, performance-based compensation model

Travel: Extensive travel to customer locations is required, with some overnight travel (up to 80%)
