The Role

The connectivity team is growing to support the Atlas Copco strategy to connect and optimize our installed base of equipment. We develop new connectivity devices in collaboration with leading suppliers in IoT domain. The team is responsible for the hardware and embedded software development of devices that support the current and future connected strategy. Our target is to have 100% of our machines connected: therefore, as architect you work on the optimal software and hardware design for our IoT devices’ modems and antennas. You will work and support with RF expertise the software and hardware developers for our future and legacy devices. You will be in contact with the RF labs for certification and evaluate RF test reports (TIS and TRP), cellular module, antenna and eUICC SIM vendors. You take part in the vendor selection to choose the right solution for our business requirements. You will work with the Test engineer to design new test scenarios for modems of several devices.

We are designing, coding, and testing features of IoT devices focusing on modem module and antenna.

Competences we are looking for to be successful in this role

  • Good understanding of IoT architecture, wireless communication technologies (4G, CATM1, NB-IoT) and standards developed by 3GPP
  • Knowledge of B2B mobile telecom products with experience of end-to-end testing of LTE systems
  • Familiarity with RF transmission issues, interpretation and intermediate technical discussions with certification agencies and suppliers
  • Effective communication skills in English, especially intercultural communication.

Working Experience:

  • Experience in B2B telecom industry in a technical role
  • Experience in embedded design of software and hardware for Industrial Internet of Things
  • Experience of testing network deployments with Amarisoft or similar is an advantage
