Process Engineer - New Manufacturing Technologies

Do you want to play a key role in developing and optimizing qualitative manufacturing solutions—from conventional CNC machining to Additive Manufacturing at the heart of Atlas Copco’s compressor production?
What does a process engineer – new manufacturing technologies do at the Atlas Copco Group in Wilrijk? As a process engineer in the Airtec division, you will join an enthusiastic team of 20 operators, designers, and engineers dedicated to delivering prototyping and engineering services. You will take ownership of the end-to-end process lifecycle: from scouting new technologies and benchmarking machines to installation, commissioning, process optimization, and quality control.
Your daily flow involves keeping our dedicated prototyping shop operational and efficient, supporting machine operators with technical challenges, and driving continuous process improvements. You will work with both conventional manufacturing methods (milling, turning, grinding) and advanced innovative techniques like Additive Manufacturing (3D printing). Managing machine selection, CAD/CAM integration, and data acquisition, you ensure high quality, short lead times, and optimal process efficiency. You will work via our hybrid model at our production facility in Wilrijk.

Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or equivalent through experience

Profound knowledge of manufacturing processes (conventional machining and/or Additive Manufacturing) and quality management principles

Familiarity with CAD/CAM software suites and data acquisition systems

Fluent communication skills in Dutch and English (spoken and written); knowledge of German is considered a plus

Hands-on, creative, and critical thinker who is always looking for a better way to optimize processes

Independent worker and reliable team player with strong organizational skills, accuracy, and a cost-conscious, innovative mindset
