Project Engineer - Electromechanical

Your role
You will be part of the engineering team for Energy Conversion solutions within the Oil-Free Air division. This recently formed team is on a mission to reduce the carbon footprint of Atlas Copco’s customers by launching a full new product range focused on steam processes.
As member of this dynamic team, you will follow projects completely from start to finish, seeing the product evolve from idea and lab prototype to series production. Together with different departments, you will shape the products, production flows, logistic chains, sales processes and aftermarket support. You will collaborate closely with the project leader and other project engineers, both within our local plant as well as spread over Atlas Copco’s international facilities (e.g. India and China).
Your tasks and responsibilities include the following topics:
- Specify, design and optimize mechanical and thermodynamical systems and components (e.g. pumps, piping, coolers, fans, valves, metal sheets, castings, …) in cooperation with experts and our internal design studio
- Define, program and implement control strategies and translate them into soft- and hardware
- Develop products and components in 3D-CAD
- Build and maintain BOMs
- Defining test programs, prepare instructions and follow-up of prototype assembly and testing
- Application of international standards and regulations (ISO, PED, ASME, …)
- Interact with suppliers
- Calculations to support your design choices
- Follow up production and field installations: troubleshoot quality and performance issues and implement solutions
- Secure and spread acquired knowledge
- Risk analysis of designs
- Asses and design for cost impacts, assembly possibilities, logistical chains and maintenance actions

- Engineering degree or equal by experience
- A passion for industrial design, backed by strong general technical knowledge
- Knowledge of Inventor, Autocad Electrical, E-plan, Siemens TIA (or Simatic) is a plus
- Fluent communication skills in English with different levels within the organization
- Experience in a product development environment is a strong advantage
- Knowledge of Dutch is a plus
