Your future job

Your role

Are you passionate about cutting-edge thermodynamic innovations and eager to design the sustainable compressor products of tomorrow?

What does an r&d project engineer do at the Atlas Copco Group in Wilrijk? As an r&d project engineer, you will become part of a multi-disciplinary team consisting of several technology and design engineers who develop the next-generation core components for oil-injected screw compressors that power an enormous variety of global applications. Your primary responsibility as an r&d project engineer is to drive the complete development trajectory of these products from concept and initial prototype to the launch of serial production, working on projects that improve efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. You will balance project management with full ownership of the technical scope, managing timelines, safeguarding technical coherence during the design phase, and building project action plans to ensure deliverables are met within budget. In this role, you will do research, simulations, fluid dynamics modeling, and data processing, allowing you to gain hands-on experience with the products outside of a traditional desk environment while nurturing cross-departmental feedback to optimize product design for all stakeholders.

In this role, you will report to the product engineering leader and work on site at our facility in Wilrijk.
