Your role

As a Project Engineer within the Vacuum Engineering team at Airpower Wilrijk, you are part of a warm and driven team that designs state-of-the-art vacuum pumps from the ground up. You take ownership of various projects, managing and supporting their development from concept to implementation. You organize and lead technical and project meetings with key stakeholders in marketing, production, service, purchasing, and external suppliers. You evaluate new vacuum technologies and components for their technical and economic feasibility. You conduct in-depth data analysis of our connected vacuum pumps to identify areas for improvement and solve issues. You help develop and refine data-driven software and control algorithms to enhance performance, reliability, and efficiency. In close collaboration with the marketing and application teams, you make sure that our machine designs closely match customer requirements. You contribute actively to our protected IP portfolio and work together with the lab to bring your innovations to life. Finally, you play an important role in strengthening our team’s technical capabilities in mechatronics, software, sensors, control systems, and data analysis.

  • You have a Master’s degree in Mechatronic, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • You are passionate about mechatronics, software, technology, and innovation, and motivated to keep learning and growing
  • You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and approach challenges creatively and pragmatically
  • You are fluent in English and have solid computer skills (e.g. MS Office, MATLAB, Python, CAD...)
  • You are a proactive team player with excellent communication skills, ideally with some experience in mechatronics and/or software developmen
