NPI Project Lead for Integrated Systems

Edwards Korea Ltd invites passionate and experienced professionals to join our team as an NPI (New Product Introduction) Project Lead for Integrated Systems in our Asan facility. As a renowned leader in Vacuum Technique, we specialize in pioneering advanced technology solutions that empower the semiconductor industry and related high-tech sectors. This pivotal role offers a unique opportunity to steer innovative projects that contribute significantly to Edwards' success and industry leadership.

About the Role

In the role of NPI Project Lead, you will take comprehensive responsibility for managing complex, multi-year projects integral to all Integrated Systems product groups—ranging from load lock mechanisms to full semiconductor processing systems. You will guide multidisciplinary teams of approximately 20 to 30 professionals across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain functions. Although team members maintain reporting relationships to their functional managers, you hold full accountability for project governance, scheduling, budgeting, and delivery, reporting directly to the Regional Program Manager - NPI.

Typical projects span up to three years, with budgets between $3 million and $5 million, targeting revenue generation around $100 million in the initial five years post-launch. Effective management of project costs, including oversight of discretionary spending up to $1 million, is a critical element of the position. Your leadership will ensure projects adhere to timelines, budgets, and quality standards while driving collaboration and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all phases of new product development—from initial concept initiation (Gate 1) through detailed design, manufacturing preparation, and factory implementation (Gate 6), ensuring compliance with Edwards’ Product Creation Process (PCP).
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules using industry-standard project management tools, facilitating regular project reviews such as Project Team Meetings (PTMs), Design Reviews (DRs), and Manufacturing Reviews (MRs).
  • Provide strategic mentorship and leadership to project leads and engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, professional growth, and operational excellence within the project management office.
  • Prepare, compile, and present clear and detailed project status updates and critical review materials for senior management, ensuring transparent communication of milestones, risks, and mitigating actions.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration and influence key stakeholders across technical, manufacturing, and supply chain domains to overcome challenges and secure project objectives.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives by integrating advancements and refinements into existing product development frameworks to enhance efficiency and project outcomes.
  • Manage project financials vigilantly, including full responsibility for budgeting, cost control, and discretionary expenditure.
  • Contribute to the maturation of Edwards’ project management capabilities by assisting PMO leadership in refining processes and standards.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, industrial economics, or a closely related field is required; advanced degrees are highly regarded.
  • At least 15 years of progressive experience in new product development within high-technology environments, with demonstrated expertise in integrated systems preferred.
  • Strong understanding of advanced manufacturing techniques specific to vacuum and semiconductor technology production.
  • Proven excellence in project management disciplines, including establishing and applying procedures, standards, and metrics for managing complex, high-value projects.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, negotiation, and influencing skills, capable of interacting effectively with senior-level internal stakeholders and external partners to build credibility and foster consensus.
  • Proficiency in English is essential for seamless interaction within Edwards’ global network.
