Software Engineer

Mission
As a Software Engineer at Edwards Korea Ltd, you will play a crucial role in the development, enhancement, and rigorous testing of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and HMI (Human-Machine Interface) software. These software solutions are integral to Edwards' advanced products and integrated systems that operate within the semiconductor vacuum technology space.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, code, and test robust PLC software modules aligned with industrial control standards and company product needs.
- Design, implement, and test HMI software modules using technologies such as C#, VB.NET, and WinForms to ensure intuitive and responsive user interfaces.
- Execute hands-on testing of software using real-world hardware, including vacuum pumps, abatement systems, precursor delivery systems, and simulators to validate software functionality and integration.
- Assist with software development lifecycle activities, including maintenance and the execution of automated tests to improve software reliability and performance.
- Participate actively in peer reviews, design reviews, code reviews, and walkthroughs fostering a collaborative environment for continuous improvement and quality assurance.
- Prepare comprehensive documentation covering software results, user instructions, and detailed test plans to maintain clarity and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with senior software engineers to gather, collate, and validate software requirements before development commences, ensuring alignment with project goals and customer needs.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- 0-3 years of relevant experience in software engineering, specifically with PLC and HMI software development.
- Practical exposure to industrial network systems such as Modbus, Serial communication, and TCP/IP protocols.
- Familiarity with software configuration management tools and defect tracking systems to support efficient development workflows.
- Competence in UML analysis and design to support the creation of maintainable and scalable software architectures.
Technical Skills
- Basic knowledge of IEC 61131-3 standards related to PLC Open programming and industrial control systems implementation.
- Foundational skills in HMI software development environments using C#, VB.NET, and Windows Forms.
- Understanding of system simulation programming with simulation tools to accurately model and test software behavior.
- Experience in developing unit tests and automated testing processes to enhance software quality and reliability.
