Sr. Development Engineer
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Development Engineer to join Edwards Korea Ltd, located in Asan. This role is pivotal in the Technology Development & Support of Abatement, ACM, and IS systems, aligning with evolving market trends and specific customer needs within the Semiconductor Division. You will play a key role in advancing technology that preoccupies the market, significantly contributing to the development and enhancement of our product portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and analyze new and emerging technology trends and rigorously test their applicability to our products and market demands.
- Drive the development and continuous improvement of innovative technologies to meet and anticipate customer requirements and market conditions in the semiconductor and environmental sectors.
- Actively participate in Technology, New Product Introduction (NPI), and Product Commercialization (PC) alignment and support projects, ensuring timely delivery and integration of robust solutions.
- Establish comprehensive project schedules and milestones to ensure technology developments and associated tasks meet deadlines and quality standards.
- Deepen understanding of the semiconductor process to foresee and troubleshoot potential challenges efficiently.
- Collaborate across departments and with technology leadership to foster smooth project progression and knowledge sharing.
- Develop and propose advanced technology solutions to enhance the performance, reliability, and environmental compliance of Abatement, ACM, and IS products.
- Respond proactively to client requirements by providing technical solutions that address operational and performance challenges.
- Lead investigations into product development issues, analyzing root causes related to DRE (%), MTBS, byproduct emissions (powder and water), plasma behavior, burner performance, pressure dynamics, corrosion, and De-NOx processes.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Program Management, Core Technology, and Product Managers to align goals and drive the successful execution of initiatives.
- Champion growth and profitability objectives for Abatement systems through active involvement in NPI projects, facilitating innovation and market competitiveness.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical, Environmental, Physics, or Mechanical Engineering.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Semiconductor Display technology and environmental industry sectors.
- Proven expertise in the development and technology advancement of Abatement, ACM & IS systems, including minimum 5 years in abatement-related development.
- At least 2 years of active engagement in research and development projects within relevant fields.
- Hands-on experience with test system production and experimental methodologies.
Skills and Knowledge
- Proficiency in common office software such as PowerPoint, Word, and Excel for documentation, reporting, and presentations.
- In-depth understanding of Environmental science, Plasma physics, Combustion processes, Fluid Dynamics, Corrosion mechanisms, Chemistry, and foundational semiconductor process principles.
- Strong analytical and systematic problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis and solution development.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Abatement operating principles, device analytical skills, and analyzer operation fundamentals.
- Excellent reporting and presentation capabilities to effectively communicate complex technical information.
- Familiarity with chemical reaction theories and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) for flow analysis.
