Position: Technical Support - Mechanical Engineer
As a Technical Support Mechanical Engineer at Edwards Korea Ltd, you will play a critical role in the design and support of mechanical components within our semiconductor vacuum technology division. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge equipment components, contribute to design processes, and collaborate across departments to ensure top-quality product performance and customer satisfaction.
Your Role
- Create accurate and detailed 3D models and 2D mechanical drawings for assigned parts or subassemblies, with a strong focus on manufacturability and adherence to internal design guidelines.
- Execute design activities guided by senior engineers, following structured Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) processes and internal engineering standards.
- Apply foundational knowledge of diverse manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, and injection molding to validate design feasibility and proactively engage with internal teams and external suppliers or stakeholders.
- Support field-driven improvement initiatives by updating drawings and design data in line with engineering change protocols, ensuring that changes are thoroughly documented and communicated.
- Ensure all mechanical designs comply with SEMI standards along with relevant safety and environmental regulations to uphold quality and industry compliance.
- Collaborate effectively with quality assurance, manufacturing, and service teams to resolve design-related technical issues, incorporate feedback, and drive continuous improvement efforts.
- Maintain meticulous documentation and design history records within PLM systems, ensuring full traceability and version control of all engineering deliverables.
- Actively participate in design reviews, embracing constructive feedback and mentoring opportunities to continuously enhance your engineering expertise and project outcomes.
To Succeed in This Role, You Will Need:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field, demonstrating a solid technical foundation.
- 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience in mechanical design, ideally within a production or manufacturing environment related to high-precision engineering products.
- Technical proficiency with CAD software, including SolidWorks, 3Dx, AutoCAD, and Inventor, enabling you to produce and modify detailed engineering models and drawings confidently.
- Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems to manage and control design data, revisions, documentation, and change processes effectively.
- Awareness and practical understanding of various manufacturing methods, such as machining, sheet metal work, welding, and injection molding, to ensure manufacturability and cost-efficiency in design.
- Strong communication skills in English at a basic to intermediate level, with a proactive attitude towards learning and collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- A detail-oriented and methodical approach to engineering challenges, with the drive to deliver quality work on schedule.
