Are you our next Trade Compliance Manager?

The Trade Compliance Manager will oversee Global Trade Compliance responsibilities for the U.S.–based business area of a multi-national company. This role ensures adherence to U.S. trade compliance laws and regulations, aligning with global policies established by the headquarters in Europe. The Manager will liaise regularly with the Global Trade Compliance team in Stockholm, Sweden, and collaborate with counterparts in other regions. This position requires a self-starter who can effectively communicate across all levels of the organization, drive documented results, and provide leadership and support to team members. The role also partners closely with departments such as purchasing/sourcing, engineering, accounting/finance, and relevant Customer and Product Centers

 

Here’s how you’ll make an impact:

  • Oversee and ensure full compliance with U.S. Import/Export regulations, procedures, and corporate policies.
  • Serve as primary contact for U.S. Customs, BIS, and other trade-related government agencies.
  • Provide leadership and day-to-day management for assigned team members, fostering accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
  • Manage and evaluate the performance of Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders, including KPI’s and Audits.
  • Review product entries and exports to identify potential compliance risks; ensure admissibility and proper documentation.
  • Classify products using HTS and Schedule B codes; determine Country of origin and export licensing requirements.
  • Screen export shipments against Denied Party Lists and manage Free Trade Agreement qualifications and duty-saving opportunities.
  • Coordinate with corporate Trade Compliance and Global Trade leadership to manage international billing and payment processes.
  • Administer tariff and trade programs; perform post-entry audits, value reconciliation, and internal compliance assessments.
  • Develop and deliver internal training on trade compliance requirements and updates.
  • Maintain accurate and accessible compliance; lead internal audits and implement process improvements.

 

To Succeed You Will Need: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Accounting, or Finance preferred.
  • Licensed Customs Broker
  • 7+ years of Global Trade Compliance experience managing comprehensive trade compliance programs.
  • Sound knowledge and the ability to create various reports using the government system ACE are required.
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities with flexibility and a positive attitude.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Excel, with experience in MS Access a plus. 
  • Experience with SAP and GTS preferred.
