Trade Compliance Analyst
Your role
As a Trade Compliance Analyst, your mission is to ensure Atlas Copco’s compliance with international trade laws and regulations across the broader Americas and Canada by managing import and export activities, maintaining accurate trade data, and partnering with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and government agencies to keep products moving smoothly across borders. You will support daily compliance functions, conduct audits, interpret complex regulations, and guide business teams on best practices, while collaborating with purchasing, engineering, finance, and sales to ensure proper documentation, tariff application, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
Here’s how you’ll make an impact:
- Ensure compliance with Canadian and U.S. import/export regulations by accurately determining and assigning tariff codes, country of origin, and valuation for all products.
- Maintain and update trade data in SAP and other compliance systems to reflect the latest regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and government agencies to keep goods moving smoothly across borders.
- Conduct import audits and manage documentation to verify classification, valuation, and eligibility under trade agreements such as USMCA.
- Partner with finance to reconcile entries, disburse duties and taxes, and maintain proper recordkeeping in line with Customs and company policy.
- Support internal teams, including purchasing, engineering, and sales, by advising on Incoterms, documenting assists, and ensuring accurate import & export documentation.
- Lead and participate in special projects, policy updates, and compliance initiatives.

- Bachelor’s degree in business, international trade, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3 + years in trade compliance, customs, or global logistics; U.S. broker’s license (LCB) a plus.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. import/export regulations, HTS codes, and USMCA, with working knowledge of Canadian requirements.
- Experience with SAP, CBP systems, and CBSA platforms (CARM, CERS).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong data analysis skills.
- Detail-oriented with proven ability to classify, document, and audit trade transactions.
- Skilled in working with brokers, forwarders, and U.S. & Canadian agencies.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
