Within Atlas Copco Specialty Rental, we leverage a broad fleet of cutting-edge equipment such as air compressors, power and nitrogen generators, dryers, boosters, and steam boilers. As a Field Service Technician, your expertise will be central to our mission: maintaining and elevating the performance of our clients’ equipment by delivering exceptional repair and maintenance services that align with our safety-first culture.
Your role will involve a diverse array of responsibilities including executing planned and impromptu service visits to diagnose and resolve technical challenges, commissioning and decommissioning sophisticated rental machinery, and ensuring returned equipment meets strict standards for readiness and safety. You will uphold the highest quality in repairs and servicing, safeguarding operational efficiency both for us and our valued customers. Your work will have a direct impact on minimizing downtime and extending equipment lifespan, thus supporting vital sectors such as mining, manufacturing, and energy.
- Partner closely with the branch leadership to monitor service standards and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Utilize your problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical systems in field conditions.
- Document all maintenance and service activities thoroughly to maintain compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements.
- Engage proactively with clients on-site, providing expert advice and fostering strong professional relationships built on trust and reliability.
- Contribute to team knowledge sharing and participate in safety and technical training programs to stay abreast of evolving practices and technologies.

- Trade qualification(s) within electrical disciplines demonstrating solid foundational expertise.

- Flexibility to attend to customer needs, including availability for on-call or after-hours support to maintain critical operational uptime.
- A proactive and self-motivated approach to completing service tasks efficiently and effectively.
- Ability to work autonomously while maintaining transparent and timely communication with regional teams through comprehensive reporting.
- Experience or familiarity with electricity network providers, heavy industry sectors such as mining, manufacturing, or production assembly is advantageous.
- Previous hands-on experience in workshop or repair environments, complemented by practical problem-solving skills.
- Competency with Microsoft Office Suite to manage documentation and communication requirements proficiently.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license is essential; forklift certification will be considered an asset.

Job location
This position is based at our vibrant Branch in Henderson, Auckland. As a Field Service Technician, you will embrace a role that blends remote work with extensive travel, visiting a variety of client sites across the region.
