Supplier Quality Management
- Evaluate, approve, and periodically audit suppliers for quality, process capability, and standards compliance.
- Conduct SESPA (Supplier Evaluation System Process Audit) for supplier process validation and improvement.
- Lead APQP/PPAP activities for castings and other high‑risk components.
- Review and approve supplier control plans, PFMEA, and process flow documentation.
Incoming Material Quality Assurance
- Define and update incoming inspection standards for castings and bought‑out components.
- Monitor supplier performance using PPM, defect trends, and delivery quality metrics.
- Drive strong root cause analysis and ensure closure of corrective and preventive actions (8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa).
Customer & In‑house Complaint Management
- Take ownership of all customer complaints related to supplier‑provided parts.
- Investigate and resolve all in‑house complaints arising during machining, assembly, or testing.
- Coordinate with suppliers to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
- Track and report complaint trends to management and internal stakeholders.
Supplier Development
- Develop improvement plans for suppliers based on process capability, audit findings, and defect trends.
- Support suppliers in implementing quality tools, enhancing process controls, and reducing process variation.
- Provide training and knowledge sharing to supplier teams when required.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Work with design engineering on manufacturability, drawing improvements, and BOM quality issues.
- Align with machining and assembly teams to address quality issues in incoming material.
- Support procurement in supplier selection, risk assessment, and performance reviews.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain records of audits, PPAPs, NCRs, CAPA reports, SESPA assessments, and quality agreements.
- Ensure suppliers comply with ISO 9001 and other relevant quality system standards.
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives targeting supplier and incoming quality.
To succeed, you will need
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering
- Relevant Previous experience 5 years
- MS Dynamics/SAP
