The Financial Analyst will play a critical role within the Business Control team at Quincy Compressor. This position is designed to support sound business decisions to meet strategic objectives while optimizing profitability. Acting as a key liaison between finance and operations, the Financial Analyst will provide in-depth financial analytics, problem solving, and actionable business insights.
This role requires collaboration across multiple functions, participation in operational and project financial review processes, and the ability to clearly communicate complex financial information to management and stakeholders throughout the company. Ideal candidates will possess strong analytical skills combined with a practical understanding of manufacturing and business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead month-end close support activities including analysis and review of financial results based on business requirements to ensure accuracy and timely reporting.
- Collaborate closely with the accounting team at the Shared Service Center in Brno to maintain precise and compliant financial reporting standards.
- Conduct detailed analyses of Profit & Loss statements, Balance Sheets, headcount metrics and other financial data to identify trends, issues, and areas for improvement.
- Engage actively with Research & Development and Operational Investment projects to monitor budgets and evaluate return on investment alongside project leaders.
- Analyze production overhead costs, perform variance analysis to highlight deviations, and recommend operational improvements for enhanced efficiency.
- Gather and synthesize information from cross-functional teams and stakeholder meetings to produce comprehensive financial and operational reports.
- Provide management with timely, insightful reporting on operational efficiency, productivity, and profitability to support well-informed decision-making.
- Develop and maintain reports and automated analytical tools to support ongoing management and business control requirements.
- Assist in reviewing operational budgets and forecasting processes, contributing insights to optimize financial plans.
- Support cost reduction initiatives by identifying opportunities for savings and efficiency improvements.
- Prepare and monitor labor and overhead rates ensuring accurate reflection within the production environment.
- Take responsibility for annual Fixed Asset counts, investigate variances, and maintain the integrity of Fixed Assets registers.
- Participate in finance and operational improvement projects aimed at enhancing overall business profitability.
- Undertake follow-up and "harvesting" activities on completed projects to ensure benefits realization.
- Offer support with tax compliance, inventory management, financial systems, and audit activities as requested by the Business Controller.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field and/or CPA certification strongly preferred. Equivalent professional experience in manufacturing finance will also be considered.
- A minimum of ten years’ experience in accounting, financial analysis, or a manufacturing finance role demonstrating progressively responsible experience relevant to this position.
- Experience with local statutory and tax regulations applicable to the manufacturing sector.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong background in accounting and finance within a manufacturing or operational environment.
- Proven analytical skills with the ability to detect financial trends, discrepancies, and business risks.
- Expertise using Microsoft Excel and Office 365 suite for data analysis, reporting, and presentation.
- Capacity to effectively communicate complex accounting and financial concepts to diverse audiences.
- Open-minded, confident collaborator with a commitment to continual learning and process improvement.
- Ability to efficiently manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrated by a track record of building solid business relationships and fostering teamwork.
- Proactive approach and willingness to engage with operational teams to deepen understanding of business dynamics.
