Chief Accountant Serbia

Your role

Are you a finance professional who combines strong accounting expertise with a business-oriented mindset?

As Chief Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and transparency while actively supporting business performance within the Compressor Technique organization in Serbia. Acting as a trusted partner to management, you will ensure that accounting operations, reporting, and internal controls meet both Atlas Copco Group standards and local statutory requirements.

As a member of the local management team, you will work closely with Sales, Service, regional stakeholders, and collaborate closely with the Brno Hub for accounting activities, ensuring alignment, efficiency, and consistency in financial processes across the organization.

In this role, you will:

• Lead and oversee daily accounting operations and financial reporting activities
• Ensure compliance with local accounting, tax, and statutory regulations as well as Group standards
• Manage general ledger, purchase, sales, and stock accounting processes within the ERP system
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely closing activities
• Monitor cash flow, assets, inventories, and receivables
• Support forecasting and financial follow-up together with Business Control
• Ensure strong internal controls and support internal and external audits
• Develop and improve accounting procedures, systems, and reporting tools
• Manage relationships with auditors, banks, and external authorities
• Support risk management and insurance coordination
• Oversee HR administration compliance related to employment documentation and statutory reporting

To succeed, you will need

Experience & Education

• University degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
• 3–5 years of experience in Accounting or Finance, ideally in an international environment
• Local certification to perform accounting activities

Knowledge

• Strong knowledge of local accounting, tax, and fiscal regulations
• Advanced MS Office skills; SAP knowledge is considered an advantage
• Fluency in Serbian and very good command of English
