Business Development Manager - Japanese Customers

As a Business Development Manager - Japanese Customers, your missions are:
- Primarily focus on developing new relationships while reinforcing existing customers with Japanese companies in the Philippines with the ambition to increase Compressor Techniques market share with Japanese customers. You will work intensively together with the local business line managers & sales teams (all divisions) in the country.
- Together with the business line managers, you will develop the best sales strategy that matches the local opportunities considering success stories across all countries with focus on semiconductors, food & beverages, power generation, manufacturing, etc.
- Develop strong relationships and network with higher management from Japanese companies, coordinating with HQ when needed.
- Maximize the sustainable growth of our Compressor Technique business by promoting compressed air equipment to new and existing customers. You will be an important face of the brand to our customers, and you will develop and maintain good customer relationships in the local market

Knowledge
- Proficiency in Nihongo (Japanese language, native level) is required to effectively engage with Japanese customers and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Japanese business culture, communication styles, and decision-making processes.
- Knowledge of CRM systems and reporting tools for managing customer data and sales pipelines.
- Awareness of market trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs in the Philippines and broader Asia-Pacific region.
- Ability to develop tailored sales strategies based on industry-specific opportunities and success stories.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ proven track record in industrial sales or business development, preferably within the compressed air and gas industry.
- Demonstrated success in managing Japanese customer accounts, with experience in building long-term business relationships.
- Background in handling multinational clients, particularly in sectors such as semiconductors, food & beverages, power generation, and manufacturing.
- Experience in end-to-end execution of marketing and sales strategies, from prospecting to closing deals.
- Exposure to cross-functional collaboration with sales engineers, product managers, and service teams

Product Sales
- Identify, prospect, build, and maintain strong customer relationships with Japanese companies.
- Develop Atlas Copco’s business with key customers, both Equipment and Service.
- Achieve and exceed assigned equipment sales targets by implementing action plans tailored to Japanese customers.
- Follow up on leads and referrals from colleagues, telemarketing, and networking activities.
- Introduce new products and upgrades to key accounts, ensuring alignment with customer needs.
- Coordinate with Service Sales Engineers to provide complete solutions.
- Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries
- Actively engage in prospecting activities to increase market share.
- Prepare and deliver sales materials, promotional programs, and presentations.
- Represent the company at trade shows, exhibits, conferences, and other promotional programs.
Customer Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with Japanese customers, ensuring satisfaction and loyalty.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Japanese accounts, reinforcing trust and brand reputation.
- Maintain customer base, quotations, and daily calendar in the CRM system.
Personal Development
- Continuously update product knowledge, sales strategies, and marketing skills through training, professional publications, and networking.
- Collaborate with sales engineers, key account managers, and product managers to share best practices.
- Utilize internal training resources and continually work towards personal growth
- Actively pursue personal growth and development opportunities.
Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of customer information, activities, quotations, won and lost order information, daily, in the company’s Customer Relations Management (CRM) database.
- Prepare additional reports for management as assigned. Provide management with reports on market developments, competitive intelligence, and customer feedback.
- Recommend product, service, and pricing adjustments based on field insights.
