Your role

Due to growth, We are looking for a talented Technician to join our team.

You will support our tooling and joining solutions technologies for our customers across many industry sectors. You will need to have sound mechanical and electrical competence and be able to support and work on software and integration systems with installation, commissioning, and planned maintenance activities. 

What your day will involve:

  • Perform pre-delivery testing and inspection of tools as appropriate before delivery/site installation.
  • Installation and commissioning of new tooling, automation cells, and industrial assembly solutions at customer locations.
  • Identify and diagnose faults in robotic cells with vision technology (mechanical, electrical, and control systems)
  • Read and interpret:
  1. PLC programs (e.g. Siemens, Allen-Bradley)
  2. Electrical schematics
  3. Robot programs (e.g. FANUC, ABB, KUKA)

 

  • Use diagnostic tools, HMIs, and fault codes to locate root causes
  • Recover robots safely after faults or crashes
  • Adjust robot positions and re-teach points if required
  • Troubleshoot: robot communication issues, communication errors and camera stoppages
  • Provide support and assistance for project delivery, working closely with Project Managers.
  • System integration and configuration of customer PLC interfaces to Atlas Copco Tool.
  • Test and validation.
  • Problem resolution and root cause analysis.
  • Customer training and operation guidance.
  • Support customer staff in the pilot phases.
  • Determine and undertake all necessary preventative maintenance on all power tool products, Industrial Assembly Solutions products, and software solutions.
  • Manage the calibration, testing, and certification of all Atlas Copco power tool products.
  • You will ideally be located in the North Midlands.
  • You will be field-based covering UK-wide. You will be remote with a dedicated territory.

To succeed, you will need

You will be a confident individual who is a good team player, with an eye for detail, highly motivated and determined with:

  • Foundational knowledge of control systems
  • Basic capability in PLC and HMI programming with experience in PLC programming and control systems, ideally structured text or ladder logic
  • Strong problem‑solving skills to support testing, commissioning, validation, and troubleshoot basic automation and control issues
  • Experience in maintaining and repairing equipment such as electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, vacuum, pneumatic, actuation, or similar
  • Previously worked with SCADA or MES will be advantageous
  • Understanding of E-plans and wiring diagrams
  • Served an apprenticeship in mechanical and electrical engineering
  • Knowledge of industrial power tools i.e. Pneumatic, Battery and DC
  • Knowledge of either a manufacturing or customer service environment
  • Knowledge of visions systems / PLC / Robotic or Automation systems.
  • Successful applicant must have the appropriate right to live and work in the UK.
