Accountant II

Your role
The Accountant II plays a crucial role within the Finance and Accounting team. Working with the Accounts Specialist and Controller, they are responsible or involved in all aspects of the accounting cycle, overseeing aspects of transactions, journal entries, account reconciliation, reporting, budgeting, expense processing, and taxes, ensuring the smooth operation of the financial processes.

Essential Duties
Month-end close reconciliation, transactions, journal entries
Supporting various internal reporting needs, such as KPI reporting
Ensuring financial controls and good corporate governance are followed
Reviewing financial transactions for accuracy and completeness and launching corrective actions
Bank reconciliation
Participating in internal audits
Intercompany reporting and transactions
Serving as a backup for payroll
Advising on best GAAP or IFRS best practices
Serving as a backup for entering and processing AP invoices
Serving as a backup for entering and processing AR invoices
Working with our tax team in reporting and compliance
Investigating budget variances
Reviewing compliance with internal procedures and writing or editing work instructions and policies
Monitoring cost accounting, including part standard costs, production rates and standards
Managing and monitoring the reimbursement and expense processes
Financial statement preparation and reporting
Min Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
3-5 years’ relevant work experience.
Competencies
A strong knowledge of accounting functions including GAAP or IFRS
Can professionally and effectively communicate verbally and in writing with customers, vendors, and other employees
Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
Organizational skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities
Excellent analytical, computational, and mathematical abilities
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
High level of integrity and trustworthiness
Knowledge of or experience with ERP or bookkeeping software
