Controls Engineer

Your role
As a Controls Engineer, your mission is to to write control and visualisation software for products developed by the Clevedon PC in accordance with the functional software specification. To follow the software development procedures, including the creation of design and test documentation.. You will report to the Lead Controls Engineer.
You will
- Understand and use software requirement specifications prepared by others.
- Review specifications created by others and provide feedback where necessary.
- Works safely following agreed test procedures and risk assessments.
- Contributes to the preparation of test documents
- Plans own short-term (day to day) actions and reports on progress.
- Contributes software plans in the overall project planning process.
- Creates supporting documentation for software release and installation.
- Provides technical content for manuals, build notes and service instructions.

- HND (or equivalent) or degree in a relevant technical discipline, preferably in a controls or software discipline (Essential)
- 3 years working in controls and software within relevant industries (Desirable)
- Good level of spoken and written English
- Occasional customer site vists may be necessary as part of this role
- PLC programming – ladder logic, structured text, functions blocks, data structures (Essential)
- HMI programming using VB.net or other high level languages (Essential)
- Communications protocols – Modbus TCP, Ether-Cat (Desirable)
- Administration of software configuration control tools, version numbering, release process and archiving (Essential)
- Understanding of P&I Diagrams and electrical schematics (Essential)

Job location
This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at our office in Bristol, United Kingdom (GB).
