We have a exciting opportunity for a experienced Head of Applications - Manufacturing & Supply Chain.

This role  oversees the IS Product organisation within the Manufacturing & Supply Chain functional domain, ensuring it maximises Business value by leading the delivery of useful and robust customer/Business-facing solutions and services. They act as a senior Leadership interface between Products and the Business community, ensuring Product roadmaps are aligned with the Business’s strategic objectives and priorities. They have overall accountability for the performance of their Product organisation, including delivery performance and talent management. As this position is integral to the Vaccum Technicque - Atlas Copco strategy, we welcome candidate from global locations.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Acts as a senior IS interface into Business leadership, partnering with senior stakeholders to shape high-level Business needs and their implications on Manufacturing & Supply Chain technologies.
  • Accountable for defining a Manufacturing & Supply Chain Product Stream technology strategy and roadmap to align with wider Business goals and priorities; steering individual Product roadmaps as required.
  • Oversees the performance of the Manufacturing & Supply Chain Product organisation (encompassing Engineering, Manufacturing, Planning, Quality, Procurement, Logistics, Warehouse Management, etc.); ensuring the timely delivery of Product roadmaps and the launch of valuable, robust, and secure solutions into the Business.
  • Accountable for the Product Stream interface into the Portfolio function, ensuring new Portfolio items are qualified and delivered according to broader IS strategies and Business ambitions.
  • Oversees the Product Managers in interlocking with Business Application Owners, aligning their application roadmaps against the overall vision and direction of the Product Stream.
  • Accountable for effective security, compliance, and risk management across the Manufacturing & Supply Chain Product Stream, in line with enterprise guardrails and standards.
  • Acts as a senior escalation point for Product Managers, Product Owners, and other Business/IS stakeholders in relation to Product Stream performance.  
  • Oversees a community of Solution Architects in shaping cross-Product solutions, ensuring major inter-Product dependencies to deliver larger, integration solutions.

 

 

Experience required:

  • Comprehensive experience in managing IT delivery, from requirements elicitation to code deployment and ideally able to demonstrate industry IS experience
  • Proven people leader, with track record of successfully improving the performance of an IT department, cultivating talent, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Evidenced ability to develop and maintain strong partnerships with senior Business stakeholders (C-suite), translating their high-level needs into practical technology solutions.
  • Deep expertise across Engineering, Manufacturing, Planning, Logistics, and Procurement functional domains, preferably within an industrial manufacturing / high-tech industry context.
  • Expertise in Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and other related technologies (e.g., CAD/CAM, SAP ECC Materials Mgmt., SAP ECC Logistics, SAP ECC Inventory Mgmt., Kinaxis, PowerBI).
  • Proven track record in shaping valuable, integrated Product strategies and roadmaps, realising tangible benefits for the Business.
  • Very strong understanding of managing Product performance measures and metrics, with evidenced ability to improve the performance of multiple Products (e.g., defect rate, downtime, team productivity).
  • History of practically applying Agile methodologies and frameworks (e.g., Scrum) within a Product context, with demonstrable experience of upskilling teams in Agile.
