Cloud Engineer

Your role

As a Cloud Engineer, you’ll join the Power Technique IT (PT IT) organization, which delivers key IT services supporting delivery teams across the Power Technique Business Area of Atlas Copco. You’ll work in a team focused on operations, security, and architecture—helping us build scalable, secure, and future‑ready cloud solutions.

Since PT IT’s main base is in Belgium, you will be among the very first colleagues in Brno. Really one of the first. 😊

As a Cloud Engineer you will provide resilient and efficient cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure that support and accelerate business objectives. This role continuously enhances operations and maintains stable, secure, and well-governed environments across all cloud services within PT-IT business area.

Your responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and optimize secure, scalable cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure aligned with business objectives.
• Act as a trusted partner to business teams, translating requirements into efficient cloud architectures.
• Ensure operational excellence through proactive monitoring, automation, and continuous improvement.
• Optimize performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency of cloud environments.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD practices for consistent, repeatable deployments.
• Enforce security, compliance, and governance standards across all cloud solutions.
• Ensure high service availability by proactively identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving issues.
• Collaborate across teams to drive innovation, knowledge sharing, and continuous enhancement of cloud services.
• Support preventive measures to reduce recurring incidents and bottlenecks.

Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with internal standards and industry regulations.

To succeed, you will need

Work experiences/Hard skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer science or similar or equivalent through relevant work experience.
• Minumum of 2 years proven experiences as a Cloud Engineer with a focus on Microsoft Azure
• Expertise in Microsoft Azure services (PAAS & IAAS)
• Strong work experience with Infrastructure as Code (f.e. Terraform, ARM templates)
• Strong experience with CI/CD pipeline implementation (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)
• Scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Python, Bash)
• Cloud networking knowledge and practical experiences (VNets, VPN, ExpressRoute, firewalls, DNS)

Soft Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams
• Structured, detail-oriented, and proactive mindset
• Customer oriented approach

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at our premises of Atlas Copco Services, s.r.o. in Brno, Czech Republic (CZ).
