IT Project Leader - Finance Applications

Your role
We are looking for a highly skilled Project Leader with strong financial expertise and advanced technical knowledge to join our product team. You will be responsible for the quality, evolution, and support of our AFS and other Finance Applications, currently based on, or interfaced with BPCS and IBMi AS400 system.
In the coming years, we will start a strategic migration from AFS to SAP. In the meantime, you will prepare by taking ownership of existing finance applications and be responsible for implementing a variety of financial change requests across systems such as CEA Client Server, WWEB, Isabel, Polaris BPCS, and e-invoicing. As Project Leader, you will play a pivotal role in this transformation, shaping the future of our financial landscape. Experience with SAP or similar enterprise platforms is a strong advantage.
In this role, you combine finance knowledge, technical depth, project leadership, and a forward-looking mindset, working in a complex and international environment.
Your Responsibilities
- Safeguard the functional and operational quality of our Finance applications (mainly AFS today, SAP in the future) aligned with business and finance processes.
- Prepare the organization for the multi-year migration from AFS to SAP, including analysis, design, process alignment, change management, and implementation.
- Understand end-to-end financial processes (GL, AP, AR, cost accounting, budgeting, controlling…) and translate them into functional and technical specifications.
- Provide functional and technical designs, write documentation, and perform detailed testing.
- Act as application owner, providing third-line support and advising on architecture and integrations.
- Drive IS/IT projects from feasibility through design, build, testing, implementation, and post-go-live stabilization.
- Manage the change portfolio, prioritize issues, and act as the final escalation point.
- Work with modern data and integration technologies such as Intelligence Hub and Databricks, experience with these platforms is an asset.
To succeed, you will need
Education & Expertise
- Bachelor or master’s degree in ICT, Applied Computer Science, Business Economics, Accountancy, or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in significant IS/IT projects.
- At least 3 years of experience with ERP and Finance Applications.
- Strong finance expertise is required:
- GL, AP, AR
- Cost/analytical accounting
- Budgeting & controlling
- Closing cycles and financial reporting
- Technical expertise is equally essential:
- Experience with interfaces, integrations, and batch processes.
- Experience with SAP is a major plus, especially given the upcoming migration.
- Knowledge of Intelligence Hub and/or Databricks is an advantage.
- Solid understanding of software lifecycle processes: requirements, functional specs, testing, implementation, and change management.
- Experience with Agile project management is a plus.

Job location
This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at our Atlas Copco Services premises, at Holandska 10 in Brno, Czech Republic (CZ).
