Your Role

The Automation Excellence Centre Europe (formerly Mont-Tech) is a newly acquired business based in Brno, Czech Republic. The focus for the Automation Excellence Center is to execute customer projects based on the standard scalable automation solutions like the TCR cell and screw feeding.

This is an exciting time to join AEC Europe as we continue to intergrate the business into Atlas Copco as well as efficiently scaling up the operations to meet the growing demand for automation solutions, and introduce best practice processes.

 

Mission

To drive the strategic implementation of becoming a European Excellence Centre for automated tightening applications and screwfeeding applications within Atlas Copco in close cooperation and collaboration with the Automation Innovation Center in Darmstadt, other application centres, and local Customer Centers.

 

To lead the cross-functional operations team and facilitate the integration of AEC Europe into the Atlas Copco group (way of working, matrix organization structure, local CEE region policies, divisional strategies, branding, strong control over costs and other financials, IT infrastructure, etc.)

 

Job description

As Operations Manager for the Automation Excellence Centre within Global Projects, you will have the responsibility for the efficient delivery of automation solutions, such as the TCR Cell and Screw Feed Systems.

 

The main responsibilities of the AEC Operations Manager are:

  • Responsible for the Standard Costing P&L for AEC Europe, including quality costs, overhead variance, standard cost variance, and R&D budget
  • Lead and continuously develop the operations at the Automation Excellence Center
  • Maintain a high level of efficiency, higher utilization, and quality in operations and solutions delivered
  • Foster effective collaboration with the Automation Innovation Center (AIC), Customer Centers (CCs), and other involved entities to optimize the product portfolio
  • Ensure the right resources and competencies are in place to support project sales, production, and customer project executions
  • Drive the growth of financial and Operational KPIs
  • Always ensure the safety of our employees
  • Be an ambassador and role model for our inclusion and diversity activities and values
  • Contribute to reaching our group goals on sustainability by actively working toward lowering our environmental footprint
  • Create an efficient communication forum between your organization and the local CCs in Europe to accelerate sales development of Automation in the region
  • Ensuring customer and employee satisfaction
  • To grow and coach talents for the future (attract-develop-keep)
    • Follow all relevant HR processes in line with this
    •  Ensure the right resources and competencies are in place to support project sales, production, and customer project executions
  • This role reports to the General Manager Eastern Europe, working closely together with the Global Operations Manager, Global Projects. The position requires frequent travelling, mainly in Europe

 
To succeed, you will need  

Experience requirements

  • Leading, managing and motivating a cross-functional organization
  • Demonstrable experience of driving operational excellence and developing / executing complex solutions in shorter time every time through development of modular design concepts and mass-customization
  • Managing multiple large and technically complex projects
  • Working within an international matrix-organization and adapt easily to different cultures

 

Educational requirements and knowledge

  • University degree - technically and/or commercially oriented - or similar through experience.
  • Excellent analytical and financial skills
  • Business knowledge of Motor Vehicle and/or General Industry segments
  • A clear vision and ability to achieve results from action plans derived from a solid strategic platform
  • Fluent in English language and shall be prepared to learn Czech within the shortest time
