Your role

Operations Managers manages all administration, service workload, capacity planning, labor effectiveness and productivity for STC Site Operations while ensuring customer expectations (cost, delivery, lead-time, quality, etc.) are met. He/she is responsible for ensuring safety and environmental compliance are met in support of company policy and programs.The incumbent of this job operates as part of the STC management team. Must interface with all levels within the STC operational environment.

Main responsibilities

  • Lead and direct the Service business operations to meet established annual revenue and gross profit targets, aligning with regional and global STC service strategies.
  • Enhance service processes by optimizing manpower allocation, overseeing equipment and material requirements, and maintaining stringent inventory controls.
  • Proactively resolve or escalate customer service issues to ensure swift and satisfactory outcomes.
  • Develop and mentor service team leaders to maximize resource use, maintain high-quality standards, ensure timely delivery, and foster effective work prioritization.
  • Monitor operational expense budgets, evaluate staff competencies, and implement targeted employee development and training programs.
  • Manage human resources activities including hiring, staff planning, coaching, disciplinary procedures, and motivation to support departmental goals.
  • Generate detailed strategic reports on key performance indicators such as capacity planning, on-time delivery, turnaround time, quality, and labor costs, with insightful variance analyses.
  • Collaborate with departments such as BLM, SHE, HR, Quality, and Engineering to align priorities and resolve operational challenges.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and cleanliness standards, upholding SHE and 5S practices rigorously.
  • Maintain and update Quality and ISO procedures, embedding continuous improvement philosophies throughout the operation.
  • Serve as a champion for VTPS guidelines and best practices.

To succeed, you will need

  • A university degree/HND level qualification (or local equivalent) in an engineering discipline or business
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical product Manufacturing/Re-Manufacturing, Operations/Management

  • Strong communication skills, organisational awareness and impact and influencing skills area prerequisite
  • Proven experience of change management, teamwork, active listening, communication, collaboration and empathy essential. Resource management and development desirable
  • Understanding of basic manufacturing financial concepts (i.e. Efficiency and Overhead Variance, etc.)
  • Knowledge of vacuum technology and service experience is highly desirable
  • Accuracy and attention to detail is a must
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, orientation in modern IT structures and processes. SAP, MS Project highly desirable

  • Proficient in English – written and speaking, Czech language is a must
