Join Atlas Copco as a Category Buyer in direct procurement and take ownership of product group strategy for our Product Company in Germany. You will be responsible for selecting and developing suppliers for strategic categories.

 

Your Tasks:

  • Develop, align & implement category strategies for the product company in Cologne.
  • Collaborate on the development of cross-location product group strategies.
  • Analyze, structure, and consolidate purchasing data to support decision-making.
  • Take ownership of assigned categories with local stakeholder engagement.
  • Conduct regular assessment and evaluation of suppliers to ensure consistent quality and performance.
  • Continuously develop suppliers to meet sustainable quality, performance, and innovation targets.

 

Your Profile:

  • University degree in Business Administration or Engineering, or equivalent practical experience, plus 5+ years in a comparable role.
  • Strong knowledge of purchasing and project management processes; knowledge of machining is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
  • Business-fluent in German and English.
  • Willingness to travel regularly.
  • Solid commercial, technical, and legal understanding.
  • Highly results-oriented with strong analytical skills and strategic thinking.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
