Your role

As a Engineering Manager VSS, your mission is to lead the technical and design authority for our Semiconductor Service Division (VSS), driving a broader and more complex engineered service product portfolio. You will report to the Head of Product Improvement.

 

You will

  • Drive the delivery of strategic engineering roadmaps for innovative service products.
  • Translate roadmap objectives into actionable engineering projects that support revenue growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Act as technical and design authority for service product engineering decisions within the region.
  • Define, approve, and govern pragmatic, legally compliant engineering solutions with full documentation traceability.
  • Engineer scalable service product upgrades and retrofit solutions that create new revenue streams.
  • Partner with Product Management, Core Technology, and Applications teams to convert commercial requirements into viable engineering deliverables.
  • Integrate energy efficiency, lifecycle extension, and waste‑reduction principles into upgrade design.
  • Ensure disciplined project scoping, resource allocation, and milestone‑based execution to optimize cost and prevent rework.
  • Embed Voice of Customer insights and field failure learnings into engineering releases to improve uptime, maintainability, and lifecycle performance.

You have 10+ years of experience in engineering roles, including experience in leading in a decision‑making capacity, ideally within a regulated technical environment.

 

  • Strong engineering leadership across multi‑platform projects (hardware and software).
  • Proven ability to act as technical or design authority, ensuring compliant and robust engineering outputs.
  • Deep technical expertise in mechanical, electrical, or systems engineering.
  • Ability to make high‑quality decisions using first‑principles thinking, especially under pressure.
  • Experience delivering engineering upgrades, new service product developments, and complex technical releases.
  • Experience working within regulatory frameworks such as CE, SEMI, ISO 9001, RoHS/REACH, or equivalent.
  • Capability to navigate global engineering collaboration models 
  • Familiarity with reliability and root‑cause methodologies and proficiency in engineering tools and data‑driven decision‑making

Job location

We are open to discussing the preferred location for this role, which can be based across EMEA or Asia. Some international travel may be required as part of the position
