Your role

As a Global Quality Tools and Methods Specialist, your mission is to define, implement, and continuously improve the quality management methodologies, standards, and digital tools used across the organisation to ensure product and process excellence in the design, manufacturing, and service of semiconductor equipment. You will report to VP Customer Quality.

You will
  • Define and deploy the global strategy for Quality Tools & Methods in alignment with business objectives and customer requirements.
  • Lead cross-functional and cross-divisional quality initiatives to establish a culture of prevention, standardisation, and continuous improvement.
  • Own and continuously improve the company’s quality methodologies and standards (FMEA, SPC, MSA, APQP, PPAP, 8D, CAPA, DFMEA/PFMEA), driving harmonisation of quality processes across R&D, supply chain, manufacturing, and field service.
  • Champion the integration of quality tools into new product introduction (NPI) and production management systems, supporting advanced data analytics and automated quality reporting.
  • Institutionalise lessons-learned systems and participate in workshops and Kaizen events focused on yield, reliability, and performance improvement.
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Field Service teams to embed quality tools early in product and process development.
  • Collaborate with key suppliers and customers to align on quality standards and continuous improvement goals.
  • Manage and mentor global quality teams for methods and tool deployment, supporting audits and quality reviews.

You have 10+ years of experience, working as a quality engineering, reliability, or operational excellence specialist within semiconductor equipment or high-tech equipment environments.

 

  • Expert-level knowledge of quality tools (FMEA, SPC, DOE, MSA, DFSS, APQP, 8D, DMAIC)
  • Strong data-driven mindset with experience in statistical analysis software (Minitab, JMP, Python, or Power BI)
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and cross-functional leadership skills; ability to influence at all organisational levels and lead through change.
  • Advanced certifications such as Six Sigma Black Belt or Lean Expert; practical knowledge of ISO 9001:2015; hands-on experience with operational platforms and advanced analytics for quality monitoring.

Job location

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at our Global Technology Centre in Burgess Hill, United Kingdom (GB).
