Head of Design for Service and NPI - Service Technology Centre Programmes

Your role
As a Head of Design for Service and NPI - Service Technology Centre Programmes, your mission is to enable product serviceability by delivering strategic Design for Service and New Product Introduction programmes that support growth and profitability for the Semiconductor Service Division. You will report to the VP Engineering VSS.
You will
- Lead a global matrix engineering team to deliver new and legacy product service support activities across 18 Service Technology Centres (STCs).
- Drive the introduction of new products, processes, training, and warranty‑avoidance engineering initiatives into global STC operations.
- Manage and develop global engineering capability, fostering continuous improvement, high-quality standards, and effective knowledge sharing.
- Promote collaboration between Service Technology Centres and Product Companies, strengthening a Design for Service culture across technical, commercial, and operational functions.
- Oversee strategic planning for Design for Service and business growth initiatives, balancing these with cost‑reduction programmes.
- Define project parameters, reporting requirements, and communication for key stakeholders including the Senior Leadership Team.
- Plan and allocate resources effectively to ensure Design for Service requirements are fully met and delivered on time and within budget.
- Champion safe, standardised, and cost‑effective processes through agile change control and global deployment.

You have 10+ years of experience in a Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Electromechanical engineering environment, including 5+ years in management.
You bring:
- A solid understanding of Manufacturing Engineering methods
- Proven experience in NPI, STC/Field Service processes, and technical/product support
- Familiarity with PFMEA, Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and structured problem‑solving methodologies
- Strong capability in O365, SAP, Visio, AUTOCAD/CATIA or similar tools
- Ability to lead, coach, and develop a high-performing global engineering team
- Strong stakeholder management and the ability to influence across a multinational matrix organisation

Job location
This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at our Global Technology Centre in Burgess Hill, United Kingdom (GB).
