Your role

As an R&D Business Planning & Analysis Manager, your mission is to drive strategic insight, planning excellence and performance intelligence across the Semiconductor Division’s global R&D organisation.

You will report to the Head of R&D Operations.

You will

    • Lead R&D cost planning, forecasting and long‑term performance management to ensure alignment with divisional objectives.
    • Deliver high‑quality analysis and insights that highlight opportunities, risks and trends , enabling better decisions and improved predictability.
    • Shape, develop and own the core processes, systems and tools that underpin R&D planning, budgeting and performance reporting.
    • Build and maintain KPI frameworks that measure progress, not just spend, including milestones, throughput, time‑to‑market and resource utilisation.
    • Partner closely with R&D leaders to align OGSMs, support scenario planning and ensure strategic clarity across portfolios.
    • Act as a trusted business partner to Programme and Project Management, Technical Leaders and Business Control teams, ensuring strong governance and consistent ways of working.Support and upskill technical managers to improve budget effectiveness, data quality and accountability.

    • 7–10 years’ experience working in business planning, analysis, FP&A or strategic operations within a complex engineering or R&D environment
    • Proven ability to translate R&D strategy into clear, executable multi‑year plans.
    • Strong skills in planning, forecasting and performance analysis across multiple portfolios.
    • Experience working end‑to‑end across strategy, portfolio, capacity, budget and outcome tracking.
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly to technical and non‑technical audiences.
    • Strong influencing skills and confidence engaging senior stakeholders in a global organisation.
    • (Preferred) Experience with R&D lifecycles, product commercialisation stages and value‑generation insights.
    • (Preferred) Background in process optimisation, planning tool ownership or KPI framework design.

Option 2: Hybrid
This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at our one of our UK sites, Clevedon, Burgess Hill, Eastbourne
