Role Purpose

This role's mission is to create and lead a unified, cross-portfolio strategy to maximise synergy, customer value and sustainability across Edwards' semiconductor equipment ecosystem.

 

This role exists to align Divisional and Business Unit product roadmaps and optimise the total cost of ownership (TCoO) delivered to customers by ensuring semiconductor equipment, such as dry pumps, abatement, integrated systems, cryopumps, turbomolecular pumps, and related technologies operate as a coherent, value‑driven system.The mission is to champion a holistic, system‑level view of semiconductor solutions, improving interface compatibility, performance, energy efficiency and sustainability across the business. It is critical to enabling Edwards’ transition towards connected, digital semiconductor equipment, ensuring seamless integration with customer ecosystems, scalable digital architectures, and compliance with evolving industry standards and regulations.

Key Accountabilities

Product strategy & portfolio management

  • Develop and own the strategic vision, roadmap and lifecycle of 'digital solutions' and communication interfaces (this includes the interfaces between Edwards' equipment and OEM tools, factory data acquisition and fleet monitoring systems, and Edwards' digital applications, e.g. EdCentra, EdMonitor, EdPredict, EdLink and EdSense)
  • Enable seamless connectivity, data integration, and digital ecosystem alignment
  • Analyse industry trends, technology inflections, and customer roadmaps to inform long‑term synergy strategy
  • Translate complex technical challenges into clear, actionable and prioritised requirements for engineering and product teams, quantifying value to our customers
  • Ensure alignment with industry communication standards, e.g. SECS/GEM, EtherCAT, EDA / Interface A, which enable equipment integration and data exchange with factory systems

 

Stakeholder alignment and influence

  • Build strong relationships across a decentralised, global organisation, influencing to drive progress
  • Lead cross‑functional working groups to harmonise interfaces, standards, and integration architectures across product lines

 

Customer value and sustainability

  • Define and champion system‑level value propositions that improve customer outcomes across TCoO, uptime, energy use, and environmental impact
  • Partner with sustainability teams to embed circularity, energy efficiency, and emissions reduction into cross‑portfolio strategies
  • Engage with key OEMs and end users to validate integration concepts and gather feedback
  • Engage directly with key customers to collect customer voice and feedback

 

Execution and programme leadership

  • Operate in a product owner capacity within Agile/Scrum teams
  • Lead cross‑portfolio initiatives from concept through execution, ensuring measurable progress and clear deliverables

Requirements
•    Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical discipline.
•    5 years' Product Management experience in software, digital platforms, control systems, semiconductor, industrial automation, or other high-tech industries.
•    Proven experience defining product roadmaps and managing products through the full lifecycle.
•    Strong understanding of embedded software, control systems, system integration, and industrial communication protocols.
•    Ability to translate customer needs into technical requirements and deliver customer-focused solutions.
•    Excellent communication, leadership, stakeholder management, and cross-cultural collaboration skills.
•    Strong systems-thinking, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
•    Commercially aware, results-driven, and comfortable operating at both strategic and hands-on levels.
•    Experience driving change, influencing others, and managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
•    Willingness to travel internationally as required.

 

Desirable
•    Agile/Scrum Product Owner experience.
•    Knowledge of semiconductor industry standards (SECS/GEM, GEM300, EDA/Interface A).
•    Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks, regulatory requirements, functional safety, and EMC standards.
•    Experience with IoT, fleet monitoring, predictive analytics, and related digital technologies.
•    Working knowledge of Linux, FreeRTOS, Windows, and industrial protocols such as Modbus, EtherCAT, MQTT, and OPC-UA.

 

 

Location

 

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at our GTC office in Burgess Hill, UK.
