VP Engineering, Dry Pumps, Semi
As VP Engineering, Dry Pumps you will deliver commercial success and market share gains for the division through the rapid introduction of world-class dry pump products into the semiconductor and adjacent markets. Define and deliver a technology and product roadmap that ensures longer term success. Lead the engineering teams around the world, creating a cohesive engineering force, capable of propelling the Semiconductor Division to the next level of market leadership. As authorising officer for the division, safety compliance and quality are the highest priority of the role, whilst ensuring timely delivery of new products and technologies into the market.
Key accountabilities include:
- Create a dynamic, ambitious and entrepreneurial global engineering group across the division that delivers commercial success through disruptive product innovation.
- Deliver the global NPI programmes for Dry Pump products which are on time, on cost and with high quality. Accelerate our time to market to meet the speed of market and application changes.
- You take full responsibility for engineering process improvement, consistency, safety and compliance.
- Incorporate design for cost, manufacturability, reliability, part variation, accounting for component obsolescence, into the product development cycle.
- Introduce product development methods that deliver products quicker to the market as well as designs with the lowest cost, maximum differentiation, flexibility and innovation.
- Direct core technology development projects to align with the future requirements of our customers.
- Lead the market in energy efficiency and environmental impact and performance of our products.
- Ensure engagement between Applications, Product Management, Technology and Engineering to enable and deliver the product roadmap.
- Ensure that serviceability and predictive diagnostics needs are considered within the development process.
- Drive a connectivity and software strategy for the products and solutions

- Control R&D spend as well as drive improvements in efficiency.

Experience requirements
- A proven track record of having launched disruptive or innovative products delivering commercial success. With an ability to lead projects and activities, delivering on time, to specification with strict quality and cost targets (project and product costs).
- Exceptional business/commercial awareness to make appropriate proposals to balance potentially conflicting commercial and technical drivers.
- Management expertise to manage, build & develop a large (>100 people) multi-discpline cohesive team, to provide leadership & direction, and to foster good communications across project teams & functions.
- Influencing, communication, presentation and negotiating skills at the highest levels, both internally and externally. Able to achieve credibility and command respect. Influencing across functional boundaries is a key element of this role
- Experience in a manufacturing environment and design for manufacturing/assembly/procurements tools.
- Experience with platform and modular design.
- Knowledge of vacuum technology is advantageous.
Knowledge / Educational requirements
- Technical University degree plus 15 years post-degree experience.
- Good level of English language (verbal and written), knowledge of Korean/Mandarin is advantageous
- Knowledge of semiconductor wafer processes is advantageous

Job location
As a senior role, there is requirement to travel to our sites and therefore we offer a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being at our Semiconductor Division sites across our globe and a home base.
