Your role

As a Clean Hydro Tester, your mission is to clean, setup, and assemble pump casings and associated components for hydrostatic testing. You will report to Mashine Shop Operations Manager. 

 

You will 

 

  • Clean, setup, and assemble pressure retaining pump cases/covers, pump casings, piping, and associated components for hydrostatic pressure testing
  • Clean and grind pump castings in accordance with design specifications, and prepare pump casings for painting
  • Support their Manager and the Production Manager or their designate, as part of pump testing operations
  • Take instructions from their Manager and the Production Manager, or their designate, for set up and pump testing operations scheduled for jobs, service, or repair
  • Assist their Manager in recording and reporting of hydrostatic data
  • Maintain and organize Clean/Hydro test area for safe operation

To succeed, you will need

 

Qualification Requirements

 

  • Mechanically inclined, familiar with handling tools, cutting tools and mechanical equipment
  • Knowledgeable in basic pump assembly and disassembly, with minimal supervision
  • Familiar with hydrostatic testing operations
  • Good Communication skills

 

Education and/or Experience

 

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 1-2 years experience in a similar function and/or manufacturing/industrial environment is preferred
  • Ability to use various cutting tools and work with all hand and air tools to achieve results

 

Physical Demands

 

  • Ability to occasionally lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortably able to perform repetitive motions using finger, wrist, and shoulders
  • Ability to remain standing for the duration of your shift

 

Work Environment

 

  • Ability to work in a high noise area
  • Ability to work around overhead cranes, forklifts, machines, and equipment
  • Must wear personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and steel toed boots
  • Must be aware of and comply with all relevant safety policy and procedures
