CPC Pumps specializes in designing, manufacturing, testing, and servicing of engineered heavy duty process centrifugal pumps (fully API 610 Compliant) for the CCUS, Green Energy / Circular Economy, H2, LNG, Chem-Petrochem and power-generating industry since 1957. 

 

CPC Pumps is looking for a talented professional to join our team to fill the role of Engineering Designer.

 

Purpose

 

CPC Pumps International is looking for an Engineering Designer that would be responsible for the following tasks:

 

•    Centrifugal pump design to API 610, Hydraulic Institute, and ASME BPVC standards
•    Review test results and make recommendations for curve corrections

 

The ability to perform the following additional tasks would be considered an asset:

•    Bearing, bearing housing, and lubrication system design and evaluation
•    Perform CFD on centrifugal pumps to analyze and improve performance
•    Perform FEA analysis to evaluate structural integrity
•    Perform rotor dynamic analysis
•    Perform thermal analysis of pump components

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

•    Design impellers, volutes, diffusers to meet specified hydraulic performance as per job specifications and relevant industrial standards/codes
•    Assist sales in performance curve selection to meet specific applications
•    Participate in hydraulic component modifications for performance improvement
•    Identify and implement new/improved design standard and procedural documents
•    Work with other Engineers to direct the investigation and resolution of problems relating to design or quality issues, record and report findings, make corrections, and develop and implement permanent, cost-effective solutions


 

 
To succeed, you will need  


 Qualification Requirements

 

•    Experience with centrifugal pump design, mechanical design, and pressure vessels 
•    Solid knowledge in hydraulics and mechanical engineering
•    Knowledge of API 610, HI, ASME and ASTM standards
•    Proficiency in engineering and design software (such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Microsoft office)
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to work well with others
•    Knowledge of ANSYS Fluent is an asset
•    Experience in programming with Visual Basics or C++ is an asset 

 

 Education and/or Experience

 

•    Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering
•    1 to 3 years relevant experience with mechanical acumen, preferably in a plant and/or technical work experience; manufacturing environment is preferred
