CPC Pumps specializes in designing, manufacturing, testing, and servicing of engineered heavy duty process centrifugal pumps (fully API 610 Compliant) for the CCUS, Green Energy / Circular Economy, H2, LNG, Chem-Petrochem and power-generating industry since 1957.

 

CPC Pumps is looking for a talented professional to join our team to fill the role of Engineering Designer (CFD Analyst).  

 

Purpose

 

The Engineering Designer (CFD Analyst) is responsible for the following tasks

 

•    Perform CFD on centrifugal pumps to analyze and improve performance
•    Perform acoustic analysis of multistage pumps
•    Perform NPSHr analysis of impeller and pump designs
•    Centrifugal pump impeller, volute, and diffuser design
•    Pattern drawing completion
•    Performance curve generation
•    Review of pump selections
•    Chamber pressure and thrust calculations
•    Maximum allowable working pressure calculatio

 

Duties and Responsibilitie

 

•    Perform CFD on centrifugal pumps including performance and NPSH to verify hydraulic design, and identify areas where improvements can be made.
•    Interpret CFD results and make recommendations to other designers to improve designs
•    Identify and implement new/improved design standard and procedural documents
•    Work with other Engineers to direct the investigation and resolution of problems relating to design or quality issues, record and report findings, make corrections, and develop and implement permanent, cost-effective solutions

 
To succeed, you will need  

 

Qualification Requirements 

 

•    Proficiency in engineering software (Pumplinx, ANSYS CFX, SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
•    Strong knowledge of fluid dynamics and mechanical engineering
•    Experience with rotating equipment design, preferably with centrifugal pump design
•    Knowledge of API, HI, ASME and ASTM standards
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to work well with others
•    Knowledge of ANSYS Fluent is an asset 

 

Education and/or Experienc

 

•    Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering is preferre

•    Office environment involves sedentary work with repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers 
•    Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where problems occur and volumes are heavy
