GAP_Engineer_Quality Assurance

Your role
Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement
- Develop and implement quality plans, inspection procedures, and quality processes based on customer requirements, specifications, risk assessments, and lessons learned.
- Ensure the effectiveness of quality control activities throughout all project phases.
- Manage quality documentation and certification dossiers for customer orders.
- Lead quality troubleshooting, customer complaint handling, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), machinery testing, and quality inspections.
- Collect and analyze customer feedback to improve products, processes, and inspection standards.
- Collaborate with Project Management and Aftermarket teams to capture lessons learned and prevent recurring quality issues after product delivery.
ISO & Integrated Management Systems (IMS)
- Maintain and continuously improve Quality, Health, Safety, Environment, and Energy Management Systems.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and support ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001 requirements, as well as internal standards.
- Plan, support, and participate in internal and external audits.
- Maintain quality manuals, procedures, and operational documentation to ensure alignment with current requirements and business practices.
- Promote the integration of QHSE systems and tools into daily operations.
Operational Support
- Support the SHEQ Manager in all quality-related activities.
- Work closely with Engineering and Production teams to identify root causes of technical issues and implement effective solutions.
- Recommend and drive corrective and preventive actions to improve operational performance and achieve quality objectives.
To succeed, you will need
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred) or equivalent qualification.
- Training and/or certification in Quality Management and Integrated Management Systems (IMS).
- Strong understanding of quality assurance processes and ISO management systems.
- 7–10 years of experience in the shipbuilding industry.
- Technical knowledge of tailor-made machinery manufacturing, including welding, assembly, testing, and NDT processes.
- Experience in engineering, production, contract management, customer communication, and negotiations.
- Proven managerial or leadership experience.
- Hands-on experience in troubleshooting quality issues with shipyards and end-users.
- Experience in rotating machinery and shipbuilding quality assurance is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365; experience with ERP (SAP), CAD, and PLM systems is preferred.
