Your role

Bring your curiosity to work as our next Buyer. You will be part of our XXX team reporting to [Hiring manager title]. As Buyer, you will coordinate the procurement cycle of products and services for the production and service of medical gas systems and general office products. You will work directly with vendors and suppliers to request product information and quotations,  prepare and expidite purchase orders, and assist in the identification and selection of inventory items. You will work closely with the Engineering, Logistics, Project Management, and Service departments to ensure that appropriate inventory levels are maintained and available for projected production and project deadlines. You will contribute directly to how we create high‑quality products and solutions for our customers.

Your day-to-day

    • Receive purchase requests, issue purchase orders in ERP (SAP Act!) system in preparation for payment processing
    • Identify and resolve potential purchasing problems, follow up to ensure timely and accurate product delivery
    • Correspond with suppliers for quotation and maintain contact to manage status of purchase orders and credits
    • Analyze vendor pricing for cost savings, source alternative vendors as required
    • Complete vendor scorecards annually
    • Identify and source unknown products as required
    • Coodinate returns including obtaining RGAs, creating and completing necessary paperwork to ensure inventory counts remain correct and products are properly credited and/or replaced
    • Maintain ERP (SAP Act!) files, records of materials, prices, and vendor lead times
    • Work with Engineering and other departments to ensure adherence to established Class 1 procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, and safety standards
    • Work at front entrance for reception of onsite visitors and direct incoming company calls to appropriate department
    • Perform other tasks as assigned

Your skills and experience

  • OSSD or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years experience working in purchasing, customer service, or finance adminstration in a manufacturing environment
  • Certificate in purchasing from Purchasing Management Association of Canada (PMAC) considered an asset
  • Proficient in ERP software (SAP Act! preferred)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite with a focus on Excel
  • Bilingual in English and French considered an asset
  • Proven record of reducing costs and effectively managing inventory levels
  • Superior oral and written communication skills and ability to work directly with vendors and suppliers via phone, in-person, and virtually
  • Keen understanding of purchase to payment process flows
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize between routine and urgent requests across multiple departments and competing deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detial and analytical mindset to promote more sustainable processes
  • Customer centric mindset with a positive outlook

Your compensation and benefits

We offer compensation that reflects the skills, experience, and responsibilities of the role. Annual salary range for this role is $50,000.00 - $55,000.00.
