Your role

As Assistant Business Controller, your mission is to support the Business Controller in ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely financial reporting across the Southeast Asia Region.

The role acts as the key counterpart to Business Services for monthly closing and reporting activities, serves as deputy to the Business Controller in agreed areas, and is responsible for reviewing financial information, validating data accuracy, and supporting the delivery of high-quality financial analysis.

In addition, the role drives process improvements that increase efficiency, strengthen data quality, increase transparency, and contribute positively to business performance.

Job Responsibilities

Financial Closing & Reporting

  • Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing process across the Southeast Asia Region.
  • Review and validate accounting and reporting activities performed by Business Services.
  • Ensure financial information submitted to management is accurate, complete, and timely.
  • Investigate reporting deviations, inconsistencies, and unusual transactions.
  • Perform balance sheet reviews and follow up outstanding issues with relevant stakeholders.
  • Support efforts to simplify and improve the closing process.
  • Contribute to the long-term journey toward a zero-close environment through automation and standardization initiatives.
  • Prepare recurring financial reports, dashboards, and management reporting packages.

Financial Analysis & Forecasting

  • Prepare financial and operational analyses to support management decision-making.
  • Analyze business trends, profitability, margins, costs, and performance indicators.
  • Support monthly forecasting and annual planning activities.
  • Challenge assumptions through data analysis and help improve forecast accuracy.
  • Identify risks, opportunities, and warning signals through proactive analysis.
  • Support business case evaluations and ad hoc financial studies.

Compliance & Governance

  • Support the Business Controller in maintaining compliance with Group requirements and local statutory regulations.
  • Assist in monitoring internal controls and identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Support internal and external audits through preparation of documentation and follow-up actions.
  • Promote compliance with The Way We Do Things and financial policies.
  • Escalate potential control weaknesses or compliance concerns when identified.

Process Excellence, CRM & Digitalization

  • Identify process inefficiencies and drive improvements across Finance and Operations.
  • Lead automation initiatives that reduce manual work and improve reporting quality.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation and best practices.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and digitalization.

Business Support

  • Work closely with Country Managers, Department Managers, Business Services, and regional stakeholders.
  • Provide financial data and analysis that support informed business decisions.
  • Lead selected regional finance and business improvement projects.
  • Share knowledge and provide coaching on systems, reporting processes, and data quality topics.
  • Actively contribute to the development of finance processes and business control capabilities within the region.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5-8 years of experience in Financial Analysis, FP&A, Audit, Accounting, or Finance Operations.
  • Good understanding of financial statements, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.
  • Experience supporting monthly closing and management reporting processes.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, deviations, and business risks.
  • Experience working with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
  • Experience working with consolidation systems, preferably GPS.
  • Experience with reporting and data visualization tools such as Power BI is an advantage.
  • Experience with CRM systems and master data management is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated interest in process improvement, automation, and digitalization initiatives.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken

Job location

We welcome applications from candidates located in Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines,Malaysia, Vietnam and Singapore. The position can be based in any of these countries, with employment offered under the respective local contract and local compensation package. Please note that this is not an expatriate position.
