Your role

As an Accounting Specialist at Atlas Copco, you will play a crucial role in our Finance and Accounting team, reporting directly to our Business Controller. You will collaborate with a dedicated team of two other accounting professionals to ensure the smooth operation of our financial processes.

Your primary responsibilities will encompass:

  • Accounts Payable & Receivable:

    You will manage the comprehensive end-to-end processes for accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Key tasks include:

    • Processing, coding, and entering invoices, while supporting payment execution through various methods such as ACH, checks, and wires.
    • Monitoring outstanding balances and assisting in backlog control, as well as resolving any discrepancies.
    • Supporting intercompany billing and credit processes, including reprints and adjustments as necessary.
  • Reporting & Reconciliation:

    You will prepare and distribute periodic financial reports—daily, monthly, and ad hoc—to support informed business decision-making. Your role will include:

    • Assistance with financial reconciliations involving fixed assets, licensing, and telecom audits.
    • Supporting internal reporting requirements and helping to monitor exceptions or unmatched transactions.
    • Contributing to the accuracy and completeness of month-end and year-end financial close activities.
  • Operational & Administrative Support:

    In this role, you will handle incoming financial documentation, including physical mail and check processing. Responsibilities will include:

    • Responding to internal service requests and actively participating in backlog or issue resolution meetings.
    • Supporting supply chain financing and other cross-functional financial processes as needed.
    • Assisting with general administrative tasks and special projects as assigned, enhancing departmental efficiency.

To thrive in this position, you should possess:

  • A strong knowledge of accounting functions, supported by a minimum of three years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in processing and payment of invoices, ideally in an outsourced environment.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with SAP accounting software is a plus.

Job location

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you the flexibility to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at our North American Service Center located in Charlotte, United States. Specifically, you will work three days in the office and two days from home, enabling a balance between collaboration with colleagues and the convenience of remote work.
