Your role

As the Business Controller you will be a strategic partner supporting the respective General Manager of the business unit and will be responsible for reporting product profitability and key metrics analysis. You will work a hybrid schedule #LI-Hybrid (4 days in office, 1 from home) and be based out of our South Charlotte location. You will report directly to the General Manager and manage a team of 4 finance professionals. You will also work with a global network of Atlas Copco employees.

You will:

  • · Play an active role supporting the Service Center’s mission to becoming a Competence Center for logistics within the Group.
  • · Actively focus on continuous improvement projects / actions that will contribute towards positive development in the areas of Service Excellence, Operational Efficiency, Total Logistics Cost, Environmental Impact, People and Competence, and IT Tools and Processes.
  • · Report Company results in a timely and accurate manner.
  • · Focus on business control activities that add value to the consolidated business and that secure lasting results.
  • · Promote transparency in facts and figures to ensure a decision process based on adequate and objective information.
  • · Develop / maintain effective business control processes and tools; maintain financial and non-financial KPI’s, along with systems and processes to drive continuous improvement and to help identify early red flags
  • · Work with business intelligence tools to facilitate the measuring, reporting and controlling processes.
  • · Support the entire team with reports and analyses; Initiating and following up corrective actions when needed.
  • · Follow up on investments payback and safeguard company assets.
  • · Utilize and share leading practices through interaction with other entities within the Group (including the Distribution Center Business Controllers Council).
  • · Update Employee Prokura.
  • · Safeguard the professional development of all employees within your area of responsibility.

  • · Complete the performance appraisal process
  • · Coach employees for improvement

To succeed, you will need

Education

· Bachelors/University degree relevant field (Accounting/Finance) required.

· Masters or MBA a plus.

· Formal Six Sigma training a plus.

Experience

 3-5 years’ experience in Business Control; preferably within manufacturing or distribution.

· 3 years of supervisory experience – at least 2 direct reports, including Cost Accounting and Accounts Payables.

· Project Management experience.

· Experience implementing and utilizing Business Intelligence Tools a must.

Skills

· Excellent Excel skills (PowerPivot and querying skills a must).

· Planning, organizing, and executing skills.

· Detailed, accurate, and analytically savvy.

· Creative and innovative.

· Communication skills, both written as well as verbal.

· Results driven; you don’t give up easily and can cope with pressure.
