Position Title: Service Engineer

Department: SCE – Tools & Assembly Solutions

Location: Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India

Reports To: Regional Aftermarket Manager

 

 

Job description


The Service Engineer is responsible for delivering high-quality service support at customer sites, including installation, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of Atlas Copco assembly tool products. The role ensures maximum uptime, customer satisfaction, and compliance with service standards.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Perform day-to-day service activities and resolve technical issues for all assigned customers within the designated region.
  2. Deliver professional technical service, at customer premises ensuring customer satisfaction and adherence to service standards.
  3. Diagnose performance issues in Atlas Copco power tool products and take appropriate corrective actions to restore efficiency.
  4. Execute installation and commissioning of tools as and when required.
  5. Carry out calibration, testing, and certification of Atlas Copco power tool products in line with standard procedures.
  6. Perform preventive maintenance on all power tool products to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  7. Prepare and submit detailed technical service reports for all on-site activities.
  8. Identify, source, and manage spare parts and consumables necessary for tool repair and upkeep.
  9. Conduct pre-delivery testing and inspection of tools prior to dispatch or site installation.
  10. Support and participate in ad-hoc projects as assigned by the management.
  11. Demonstrate flexibility by working beyond normal hours when required to meet customer or operational needs.
  12. Hands on PLC, Automation experience is an added advantage
  13. To generate leads for service sales revenue and to take ownership of complete business development at allocated customers
  14. Ensure customer satisfaction by closely working with all the levels of customer thus by ensuring the end goals are met.

 


Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma / Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • 1–3 years of experience in service operations, preferably in industrial tools or automation equipment.
  • Hands‑on experience in troubleshooting electrical/pneumatic tools is an advantage.

 

 

Language:

  • Fair English Language proficiency is essential
  •  Local Language Knowledge will be preferred

 

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong technical troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
  • Good communication and customer‑handling skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple service calls.
  • Knowledge of calibration and testing procedures is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the regio
