Mechanical Engineer - Development Pump

Your role

Propose and validate technical ideas that deliver measurable value through performance improvement, cost reduction, and new material introduction by translating technical questions into practical experiments and proof of concept demonstrations and by documenting clear evidence and recommendations.

1. Technical investigation and problem solving

- Capturing and analyzing problems/requirements and translating them into testable investigation plans by guidance from experts.

- Assist in identifying and selecting relevant technologies/techniques and contribute to evidence-based test method under guidance from experts.

2. Experimentation and testing

- Set up and execute experiments and tests to evaluate potential solutions, ensuring safety, and time-efficient practices.

- Collect, organize, and quality-check experimental data, ensuring traceability and repeatability of results.

3. Analysis, modelling and technical documentation

- Carry on analytical and modelling techniques that support conclusions from testing and validation activities.

4. Technology readiness & risk Support

- Contribute to technical risk assessments by providing documented analysis and test results, helping the team judge whether a technology/solution is sufficiently understood and low-risk for NPI stage.

To succeed, you will need

 Education

- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.

Experience and technical skills

- Experience or strong interest in vacuum products, rotating machinery, or similar engineered systems.

- Experience in product development, laboratory, or technology investigation environment.

- Familiarity with structured problem-solving approaches and participation in cross functional investigations such as 8D.

Personal Competencies

- Communication skills in writing and verbally, and works effectively across organisational boundaries with technologists, engineers, and managers.

- Self-motivated and well organised, take ownership of assigned tasks, manages priorities and deadlines.

Language and Tools

- Fluency in written and spoken English.

- Proficiency with MS Office tools, particularly Excel and PowerPoint for reporting.
