Field Service & Support Engineer

1. JOB TITLE: Field Service Engineer / Technician
LOCATION: Cheshire / Staffordshire (UK-wide travel required)
2. REPORTING TO: CPS Service Supervisor
3. About the Role:
We’re looking for a hands-on Field Service Engineer to support our customers across the UK, with a primary base at our customer centre in the Cheshire area.
This is a varied role combining on-site support, tooling repair, preventative maintenance, and customer-facing technical expertise. You’ll work across a wide range of assembly tooling—including pneumatic and DC electric tools—while also supporting bespoke projects and continuous improvement activities.

4. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day technical support at a key customer site and additional UK locations
- Diagnose, service, and repair assembly tooling (pneumatic, DC, and related systems)
- Carry out preventative maintenance and calibration activities
- Support bespoke assembly projects and customer rework requests
- Deliver product training and technical guidance to customers when required
- Work closely with internal teams and Area Sales Managers to resolve application challenges
- Promote company products, services, and solutions through strong customer relationships
- Maintain awareness of competitor products and industry developments
5. What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
- Mechanical and/or electrical engineering background (hands-on)
- Experience with assembly tooling (e.g. clutch, transducer, pulse tools)
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- Good communication skills, including customer interaction and presentations
- Comfortable working to deadlines and prioritising tasks effectively
- IT literate beyond a basic level
- Full and clean UK driving licence
Desirable:
- ONC/HNC (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Experience working within industrial or manufacturing environments
- Knowledge of torque tooling systems and applications
- Experience delivering customer training
