Manager - Stores, Logistics & Indirect purchase

As a Manager - Stores, Logistics & Indirect Purchase, your mission is to reduce Inventory variation / logistics cost. You will report to Head - Operations.

Job Description:

To manage end-to-end stores operations, logistics coordination, inventory control, and indirect procurement activities to ensure uninterrupted production, optimal inventory levels, timely dispatches, cost-effective procurement, and compliance with company procedures.

 Responsibilities:

 - Ensure proper receipt, inspection, storage, preservation, and issuance of materials.
 - Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counting and periodic stock audits.
 - Ensure FIFO/FEFO implementation where applicable.
 - Improve storage utilization, material identification, and traceability.
 - Control OSMI (Obsolete, slow-moving, (non-moving) inventory.
 - Coordinate physical stock verification and reconciliation.
 - Lead all inbound and outbound material movements.
 - Coordinate with transporters, freight forwarders, and logistics service providers.
 - Monitor freight costs and identify logistics cost-reduction opportunities.
 - Source suppliers and obtain competitive quotations for Indirect purchase items.
 - Evaluate suppliers based on cost, quality, delivery, and service.
 - Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
 - Create and manage purchase orders.
 - Ensure timely closure of procurement requests.
 

 

To succeed, you will need

Qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Commerce, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field.
  • MBA / PG Diploma in Supply Chain Management preferred.

Experience

  • 15-20 years of experience in manufacturing operations.
  • Minimum 10 years managing stores and logistics functions.
  • Experience in indirect procurement and supplier management.
  • Strong experience in ERP
