Service Engineer - Medical Service

Mission:
This is a dual-role position combining field service technician responsibilities with aftermarket sales activities.
• Ensure reliable service and maintenance of medical gas systems within an assigned territory
• Drive aftermarket revenue by selling spare parts, preventive maintenance (PM) contracts, annual inspections, and compliance services.
• Build strong customer relationships to promote trust and long-term partnerships.
• Deliver exceptional service to maintain system uptime and compliance.
• Generate aftermarket sales through proactive engagement and value-added solutions.
• Always maintain a professional image through appearance and personal actions
• This position will report the National Technical support and Operations Manager
• Provide technical support and guidance to the distributors and direct customers facilities, including completion of relevant paper works and reports in MyMedGas

Roles & Responsibilities:
Field Service: Annual Inspections (PPM), Preventive Maintenance and Repairs:
• Perform routine, preventative maintenance and repairs on Medical Gas Products. Preventative maintenance should be conducted in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations (with regards to schedule and scope).
• Perform annual inspections (PPM) at healthcare facilities on piped medical gas products such as gas audits, energy audits, MedgasScan etc.. Properly store and maintain tools used for Annual Inspections, keeping within our quality guidelines for calibration of such tools as provided by BeaconMedaes. Maintain test instruments, to ensure they remain in good condition
• Perform diagnostics on malfunctioning products, determine possible causes for malfunctions and perform repairs as suggested by diagnostics and assessment.
• Test and document the proper operating parameters prior to and following preventative maintenance and repairs. Provide walk-through evaluations and basic system assessments.
• Always promote and practice proper safety procedures and correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Assist with evaluating key customer accounts and escalation of risks and emergency services by bringing issues to the National Technical Support & Operations Manager.
• Ensure all customers of BeaconMedaes are registered and their contact details and assets are maintained with up-to-date information in MyMedgas
Recordkeeping and Documentation
- Complete Job Reports daily, Time Sheets weekly, Expense Reports turned in at least monthly and other job-related paperwork as required.
To succeed, you will need
Experience
• 3-7 years of technical field service experience maintaining and repairing equipment
• Demonstrated expertise in the maintenance, overhaul and repair of a wide variety of compressed air or vacuum equipment
• Prior experience servicing of medical equipment and exposure to healthcare sector will be an advantage
• Strong mechanical and electrical skills
• Should have some Medical Gas credentials such as; AP, CP, ASSE 6005-6020-6030 or ASSE 6040, or the ability to obtain ASSE, AP /CP credentials within 1 year of employment is required.
Educational Requirements
• Associate degree or Equivalent or Diploma in mechanical/or electrical/ electro-mechanical
• Technical training in mechanical and/or electrical, or equivalent experience
Skills
• Must be comfortable using a computer
• Must be familiar with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
• Solid understanding of mechanical and electrical components
• Customer Focused
• Good Oral and written communication skills.
• Detail Orientated
• Use of systems like MyMedgas, MEDICAL SERVICE & CTS systems, Smartlinks, CRM
