Coating Engineer

As a Coating Engineer, your mission is to  be responsible for identifying coating technical requirements for the company’s products, with a focus on offshore engineering projects; preparing coating technical documents; guiding coating operations and driving continuous improvement of coating processes. 

You will

• Systematically identify and interpret coating-related technical clauses, performance indicators, and mandatory qualification requirements based on customer technical specifications, product standards, and contractual requirements for offshore engineering projects.

• Lead the full-process planning of coating operations, including coating procedure qualification, equipment selection, coating material compatibility, tool configuration, surface treatment plans, tooling design, work methods, and construction environment control.

• Work with the Procurement Department to evaluate outsourced coating process products, provide technical support, and conduct acceptance activities.

• Collaborate with the Quality Department to establish a coating process control system; prepare coating quality plans, process control documents, and inspection record forms.

• Be responsible for training coating operators and providing on-site guidance for key process implementation to ensure compliant execution of coating processes.

• Organize and support the company in obtaining specialized coating qualifications required for offshore engineering projects.

• Complete and deliver coating technical documents corresponding to project milestones on time.

• Participate in coating technical reviews and clarifications during the bidding stage of offshore engineering projects, and provide professional input for quotations and technical proposals.

You have 3 years of experience, working as a Coating Engineer

• Bachelor’s degree or above from a full-time accredited university, majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Offshore and Marine Engineering, Materials Engineering with a focus on corrosion and protection, or related fields.

• CET-4 or above in English, with basic listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.

• More than five years of work experience. Experience in coating processes for offshore equipment, ship equipment, offshore engineering equipment, or related industries is preferred; experience in the offshore pump industry is a plus.

• Candidates holding AMPP-CIP 2 or equivalent certifications, such as NACE CIP Level 2 or SSPC PCI Level 2 or above, are preferred.

• Familiar with coating technical standards in offshore engineering projects, offshore platforms, and marine equipment fields.

• Familiar with the selection and application requirements of common coating systems in offshore environments, such as epoxy, polyurethane, zinc-rich coatings, and phenolic epoxy coatings.

• Strong problem analysis and problem-solving skills, with the ability to systematically analyze coating defects and propose corrective actions.

• Good communication and coordination skills, with strong cross-functional collaboration abilities.
