Your role
As a R&D Manager, your missions are:
- Drive CtP process introduction in local R&D activities.
- Work with Product Managers on ideas and feasibility studies for industrial, hygienic, and environmental segments.
- Collaborate with Product Managers and IFD Managers to execute the multi-brand strategy, including LEWA and other-brand localization in Dalian.
- Execute the “Local for Local” strategy by developing products for the Chinese market.

- R&D Strategy and Product Development
1. Develop R&D plans and annual objectives aligned with business strategy and market needs.
2. Plan new product development, upgrades, optimization, and localization projects.
3. Drive product innovation to improve competitiveness and market fit.
4. Support group and global R&D project implementation.
5. Lead R&D lab and test facility setup, operation, and improvement to support development, validation, localization, and innovation.
- Project Management
1. Manage R&D projects to meet schedule, budget, and quality targets.
2. Organize project initiation, technical reviews, gate reviews, and summaries.
3. Drive collaboration with production, procurement, quality, sales, and service teams.
4. Identify project risks and define mitigation actions.
- Technical Management
1. Resolve key technical issues and decide solutions.
2. Organize design reviews, verification, and test validation.
3. Improve R&D standards, design specifications, and development processes.
4. Commercialize product technologies, patents, and technical achievements.
- Team Management
1. Build the R&D team and develop talent.
2. Set team goals and provide performance coaching.
3. Develop core technical talent and successors.
4. Strengthen technical and innovation capabilities.
- Global Collaboration
1. Maintain close cooperation with the group, Germany, and other BU brands.
2. Join global R&D meetings and technical exchanges.
3. Coordinate global resources for local R&D projects.
4. Report project progress and resource needs to management.

You have 5 years of experience, working as a R&D Manager
- Bachelor’s degree or above; master’s preferred.
- Major in Mechanical Engineering, Fluid Machinery, Process Equipment, Energy and Power, or related fields.
- Proficient in English as a working language.
- 8+ years in mechanical or fluid equipment, including 5+ years in R&D management for pumps, valves, or compressors.
- Experience in European/American, international manufacturing, or multinational R&D organizations preferred.
- Experience developing 3–5 year technology and product roadmaps aligned with divisional strategy, customer needs, and new technologies.
- Experience in VK/PK, annual R&D budgeting, resource allocation, and investment prioritization.
- Familiar with AC CtP processes; familiar with mechanical design, material selection, and manufacturing processes.
- Strong knowledge of pump design, fluid machinery, mechanical structure, and reliability design.
- Familiar with API, ISO, ANSI, DIN, and product standardization/compliance design.
- Skilled in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fluent/CFX, and ANSYS.
- Strong R&D project/resource management, problem-solving, cost awareness, and business sense.
- Strong team management, planning, analysis, resilience, communication, and proactive attitude.
