Master Data Business Domain Steward (MVS) (m/w/d)
Purpose of the Role
Master data forms the backbone of our business processes – and in this role, you will make a decisive contribution to strengthening performance, transparency, and competitiveness across the company. As Master Data Business Domain Steward for the MVS division you will play a central role in securing data quality, consistency, and the continuous improvement of our process landscape. You build an internal network within MVS for the different entities & plants, you act as the single point of contact for MVS, and you are part of the ITBA Master Data Steward community. You represent the Master Data team in company-wide initiatives such as the SAP transformation, develop global standards for master data creation and work together with ITBA central governance to continuously improve Master Data quality – with strategic foresight, strong conceptual thinking, and a hands-on implementation mindset.
Your Responsibilities
· Own the creation and lifecycle management of material master data in SAP, ensuring sustainable data quality and integrity.
· Ensure globally consistent master data quality, governance, and compliance with internal policies across all business units and regions.
· Design, implement, document, train, and govern end-to-end master data management processes.
· Define, establish, and enforce globally aligned master data standards, definitions, and compliance frameworks across the division.
· Serve as the central global interface for all Master Data Management–related topics within the division.
· Continuously review, evaluate, and optimize master data processes, rules, and workflows to ensure efficiency, stability, and operational excellence.
· Coordinate and implement technical change projects in close collaboration with IT teams and external service providers.
· Work in close partnership with Controlling, Procurement, R&D, Production, Logistics, and other business functions to validate data requirements and ensure the accuracy and reliability of master data.
· Ensure adherence to all applicable regulatory, quality, and safety requirements within the master data landscape.
· Organize, facilitate, and moderate cross-functional meetings, and provide first-level support for master data– and change-management-related topics.
· Support business processes in day-to-day operations and deliver targeted user training to ensure effective adoption of master data standards and processes.
· Contribute to the creation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of ERP queries and reports for various business stakeholders.
· Track and analyze master data quality KPIs and deliver regular insights and recommendations to management and key stakeholders.
To succeed, you will need
Your Profile
· Completed technical or commercial degree, or a comparable qualification.
· Several years of experience in master data management or process management, ideally with project responsibility.
· Experience in data quality management, data governance, and master data lifecycle management in ERP environments
· Experience in designing, documenting, and governing standardized business and master data processes.
· Experience in change management and stakeholder coordination within cross-functional and global organizations
· Strong knowledge of ERP systems (preferably MS Axapta, SAP) and a deep understanding of core business processes.
· Proficiency in MS Office.
· Strong strategic and analytical skills as well as a structured, solution-oriented working style.
· Reliable, precise, and responsible approach to work.
· Excellent communication and persuasion skills, with confidence in interdisciplinary and international environments.
· Curiosity, motivation, and enthusiasm.
· Very good German and English language skills, both written and spoken.
